Remember when some elderly family member gave you black tea as a child and later people told you that it was simply a soothing sensation of drinking something warm while sick? Scientists have evidenced that components in black tea inhibit the influenza virus. Next time you're thinking of grabbing coffee, reach for the tea instead. Drink it black or with a natural, unbleached sweetener. Sorry Brits, but milk can inhibit the beneficial medicinal properties of the beverage, but there are literally thousands of types of tea with varying tastes. Don't snub your nose because you didn't care for the cheat shit like Lipton and Twinnings (not that those won't have the same beneficial effects, but what you're paying for with the better stuff is taste). Black teas range from roasted cocoa notes to smoky to floral to citrus blends, just to name a few suggestions. In fact, double up your health benefits if you like the classic Earl Grey (a black tea with bergamot*) because according to another article, citrus peel and black tea intake may reduce the risk of skin cancers as well:
